1. What is the NOVA Open Academy (NOA)?
NOA is an Open Academy of NOVA University Lisbon, dedicated to lifelong learning. It offers a wide range of interdisciplinary courses, which do not confer academic degrees, with the aim of promoting knowledge and informed discussion in various fields.

2. Who can attend the NOVA Open Academy courses? 
The courses are open to everyone, but they are primarily aimed at individuals in a mature stage of life, with diverse interests and available time, who wish to deepen their knowledge in various areas.

3. Do NOVA Open Academy courses confer academic degrees? 
No. The NOVA Open Academy courses are non-degree programs focused on personal development and lifelong learning. At the end of each course, students can ask for a certificate of participation.

4. How do the NOVA Open Academy courses work? 
NOA courses are offered individually, meaning students must register separately for the specific course they wish to attend, with no required continuity between them. Each registration is independent, and the duration is defined by the chosen format:
Lectures (2 hours)
Discussion Classes (2 hours)
Workshops (4 hours)
There is no sequence or continuity between the courses; each course is a standalone learning experience.

6. What are the academic periods for the NOVA Open Academy?
Courses are offered across four bimester periods throughout the year:
Autumn: October and November
Winter: January and February
Spring: March, April, and May
Summer: June and July

7. How much does it cost to attend the NOVA Open Academy?
There are two membership options:
• 
Semestral membership: €50 (for two consecutive bimesters)
• Annual membership: €75 (for four consecutive bimesters)
In addition to the membership fee, course-specific tuition fees apply, depending on the type of course:
Lectures (2 hours): €70
Discussion Classes (2 hours): €100
Workshops (4 hours): €400
Alternatively, there is an annual subscription plan of €850, allowing participants to select courses up to €800 over 4 consecutive terms.

8. Does the NOVA Open Academy offer scholarships? 
Yes, scholarships are available for participants in exceptional financial circumstances, provided if the minimum number of paying students for each course is met.

9. What are the payment methods?  
Payment is made at the time of registration through the NOA website. The membership fee and tuition include mandatory school insurance.

10. Is there a maximum or minimum of students per course? 
Yes, each course has a minimum and maximum number of participants, which varies depending on the course format. For example:
Lectures: minimum of 10, maximum of 30 students
Discussion Classes: minimum of 7, maximum of 15 students
